Is Kroger Boost Worth It? Here’s What You Should Know… And Why It Might Be Your New Favorite Mom Hack!
Wondering if Kroger Boost Delivery is worth it? I’ve been using this service for many, many months now, so I’m giving you my full, honest Kroger Boost review!

Have you ever wished you could just snap your fingers and have your groceries magically show up at your door without paying a fortune in fees… or worrying about tipping? (Because, same.)
If that sounds like your dream come true, you might want to check out Kroger Boost. It’s a membership that promises to save you money and make grocery shopping a whole lot easier.
Today, I’m breaking down everything you need to know about Kroger Boost: my honest review, the perks, the costs, the fine print, and a few things you’ll want to watch out for so you can decide if it’s a good option for your household.
First Things First: What is Kroger Boost?
Think of Kroger Boost like a VIP club for busy shoppers. It’s a paid membership that gives you:
- Free delivery on groceries (no tipping required if it’s a Kroger delivery truck!)
- Fuel savings at the pump
- Exclusive discounts just for members
- Even free streaming subscriptions to Disney+, Hulu, or ESPN+ (with ads)
Boost basically helps you save money and save time — two of my favorite things.
Now, hear me out: I was super skeptical when I first heard about Kroger Boost. It felt like it was just a way for Kroger to make money and I was not interested. But then some readers here tried it out and came back and told me I must at least check it out.
I’m so glad I did, because I was so surprised at how much I loved it — and how much money and time it has saved us! More on that in my full Kroger Boost review below, but first, here’s the basic info you need to know about Kroger Boost:

There Are Two Membership Options
Here’s what you get with each and how much it costs.

- Free next-day grocery delivery on orders over $35
- 2X Fuel Points on every $1 spent on groceries and general merchandise

Boost Premium

- 2X Fuel Points on every $1 spent on groceries and general merchandise

Why I’m Loving My Kroger Boost Membership!
I signed up when Kroger was running a $20 off deal back in January of 2024. I decided that for $39/year, it was worth trying it out! I ended up being shocked by how quickly I fell in love with it! In fact, from how I sing the praises of Kroger Boost almost every single week on social media, you would think I’m a paid ambassador for Kroger Boost reviews. But nope, just a really happy customer who can’t keep a good thing to herself!
Here are five of my favorite things about Kroger Boost:
1. Double Fuel Points = BIG Gas Savings
We all know gas isn’t cheap these days. With Boost, you earn double Fuel Points every time you shop, making it easier to shave up to $1 per gallon off your fill-ups at Kroger Fuel Centers and participating Shell stations. This puts more money back into your pocket.
Here’s how it works:
- Every 100 Fuel Points = 10¢ off per gallon at the pump.
- You can redeem up to 1,000 points per day for a maximum of $1 off per gallon (huge win if you’re filling up a minivan or SUV!).
- One redemption covers one fuel purchase — up to 35 gallons max.
We saved at least $450+ on gas alone in 2024 because of Kroger Boost. I don’t know the exact amount (does anyone know if there’s a way to see it online? I tried looking for a total in savings and couldn’t find it, though it did say we’d saved $976 so far in 2025, thanks to Boost — but that would include a lot more than gas savings!)
If you really want to maximize things, have your orders delivered on Fridays and clip the 4x fuel points coupon and you’ll earn 5x fuel points. Then, save these up and when you go to fill up, make sure that you use the full 35 gallons. (I have friends who bring both cars and fill one up and then pull the next one up on the same fuel order and fill it up so they max out those 35 gallons!)
2. Free, Fast Delivery = No More “Forgot the Milk” Emergencies
If you spend $35 or more (which I do every week when I order groceries), your groceries can be delivered right to your door for free!
And, if you choose delivery through Kroger’s own refrigerated trucks, no tipping is allowed. A lot of deliveries through Instacart or other services do still expect tipping, so be sure to check when you order.
Note: Some areas only offer delivery through Instacart. You can check to see if your area offers the Kroger delivery truck options by placing a test order and going to checkout to see if you are offered both Instacart and Kroger delivery truck options. If you are offered both, then you know your area has Kroger delivery trucks.
I recommend only ordering through the Kroger delivery trucks because I’ve found that usually the service is better as these drivers know the Kroger store much better and, if there are any issues, they can take care of them promptly. One time, some eggs had broken in my order before they were delivered and the driver deleted them from my order and didn’t make me pay for the eggs, even though only a few were broken.
Bonus: Premium members even get same-day delivery which is perfect for those days when dinner plans fall apart fast after a full and busy day.

3. Special Deals Just for Boost Members
Every so often, Kroger sneaks in exclusive offers just for Boost members. This can be something along the lines of:
- Bonus Fuel Points days
- Special discounts
- Extra digital coupons
- Early access to big sales
It’s like a little “thank you” hug for being a loyal shopper. Many of the extra digital coupons will be for really amazing deals and there will be a limit of five!
4. Free Streaming Subscription
When you sign up for Boost, you can pick between a subscription to Disney+, Hulu, or ESPN+.
Essential members get it for six months, and Premium members get it ongoing for the length of their Boost subscription.
That’s one less streaming bill to worry about, and more nights spent curled up on the couch watching your favorite movies and TV shows as a family.
5. Flash Sales at Checkout
If you order through the Kroger delivery truck, you will often be offered Flash Sales at checkout. These are similar to the in-store clearance deals that Kroger offers.
I have gotten some amazing prices — especially on natural and organic items — through these. You never know what they will have, but it’s always worth looking before you check out!

A Few Things to Know (Before You Dive In)
Every good thing has a few “fine print” notes, right? Here’s what you should keep in mind:
- You still need a $35 minimum order for free delivery.
- Delivery areas vary, so check your ZIP code before signing up to make sure same-day delivery is available.
- Instacart sometimes handles deliveries and, if they do, tipping is expected (so verify your delivery is through Kroger trucks!).
- Streaming perks are for ad-supported versions (still a win, but worth noting).
- While this is obvious, it’s another monthly bill you’d need to add to your budget, so if you’re not a regular Kroger shopper, this may not be the best option for you. Carefully weigh the pros and cons of Kroger Boost to see if the savings will actually be worth the price…especially long-term.
- For me, the fuel points are what make it fully worth the membership price. If you regularly buy your fuel elsewhere, I don’t think it’s as good of a deal.
So… Is Kroger Boost Worth It?
If you’re looking for super honest Kroger Boost reviews, you know I’ll always shoot you straight! So here’s my opinion on whether it’s worth it or not…
If you’re a regular Kroger shopper who loves free delivery, saving on gas, extra deals, and a little extra bonus streaming, then honestly, yes.
Boost Premium is especially fantastic if you like having groceries show up same-day without lifting a finger (other than tapping your phone, of course). Boost Essential is great if you’re fine with next-day delivery and still want the gas savings and streaming perks at a lower price. (I have Boost Essential and it has usually been totally great, though there have been a few times when it would have been nice to have same-day delivery!)
If you don’t shop at Kroger very often, though? It might not be the best fit for you. There’s also a free 30-day trial option so that you can test out the benefits and perks before committing to a monthly or annual plan. Also, you can cancel anytime, so it’s definitely worth a try if you feel you’d benefit from any of these features.

FAQs About Kroger Boost
Can I try Boost before I commit?
Yes! Kroger offers a free 30-day trial so you can see if you love it before paying for it.
How do I know if a delivery will be through Kroger or Instacart?
When you place your order, it’ll say if your delivery is “Kroger Delivery” (no tip expected) or fulfilled by a partner (where tipping is appreciated).
Can I use my Fuel Points for anything besides gas?
Nope. Fuel Points are strictly for saving money at the pump.
Can I cancel Boost anytime?
If you pay monthly, yes, you can cancel anytime. If you pay annually, it’s nonrefundable after the first 30 days.
